Can Chat7 read my messages?
No. Messages and calls are end-to-end encrypted, so only the people in the chat can read or hear them. The privacy policy explains what we can and can't see.
Who can message me?
Anyone who has your phone number. If you'd rather keep messages from people who aren't in your contacts separate, turn on Message requests in Settings: those messages then go to a Requests folder until you accept them.
Which phone numbers work?
US and Canadian mobile numbers. You must be 18 or older.
I got a new phone. How do I keep my chats?
Link the new phone by scanning a QR code on your old one, or restore your encrypted backup with your recovery key. We can't reset your recovery key for you.
How do I block or report someone?
Open the chat, tap the name at the top, then Block or Report. See the acceptable use policy.
Someone shared an intimate image of me without consent.
Report it in the app and email support@getchat7.com with the subject "Removal request". We act on valid requests within 48 hours. If you are in danger, call 911.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to You → Settings → Delete account, or see Delete your account.
